Bringing Families Home

The Bringing Families Home Program is a short term program that supports families involved with child protective services who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their housing.

By providing housing assistance and supportive services, the program helps prevent foster care placement, stabilization, and promotes family reunification.

Key Benefits / How We Help

  • Stable Housing: Rental assistance, deposits, and utility support

  • Family Reunification: Supports families already separated from their children

  • Case Management: Housing navigation and wraparound services

  • Prevention: Landlord mediation, linkages to legal resources, in order to help keep children safely at home

Eligibility & How to Access

  • Families involved with child protective services (CPS) and working with the Dept. of Family and Children's Services.

  • Experiencing housing instability and have a reunification case plan or families that have reunified and are at imminent risk of losing their housing

  • Program eligibility is determined by the DFCS staff through an internal referral system.

    • If you are in need and are currently working with DFCS, please ask your assigned DFCS social worker if they are able to submit a referral on your behalf.

Turning Struggles
into Stability

“Before working with the BFH program through Amigos de Guadalupe, I was facing homelessness again with a newborn and felt completely overwhelmed. With the guidance and support of my case worker and the program, I learned how to navigate the housing search, advocate for myself, and build relationships with landlords. After months of searching, we were able to find a safe, stable home in the neighborhood where I grew up—close to family. The program didn’t just help us find housing—it gave my little family a chance to stay together and build a better future.” -Aurora, Former Bringing Families Home Member
